Established in 1888, the Tanunda Cricket Club is a proud, family-oriented cricket club dedicated to providing a fun, safe, and engaging environment for players and their families. We offer opportunities for all ages and skill levels, from Junior Blasters to senior cricket, and welcome players of all abilities.
Located in the heart of the Barossa Valley, Tanunda, we are a Level 3 Accredited Good Sports Club and affiliated with the Barossa & Light Cricket Association. Our club boasts a rich history, with numerous premierships across all grades, including 14 in A Grade. Notably, we are the only club in the BLCA association with lights for night cricket.
Beyond the direct focus on local sport, we have been working closely with the Barossa Council about what our sport can do regarding sporting tourism. Our recent award for SACA Facility of the Year 2023/2024 and runner-up in the Australian Cricket Facility of the year, has drawn great attention to our club and our region.
We place great value on nurturing our youth, recognizing that they represent the future of our club. Our junior teams consistently thrive, with many players advancing to senior or district cricket. We also encourage juniors to join senior sides for mentorship and development from our experienced players. Witnessing their growth and success is truly inspiring.
Training sessions are held every Tuesday and Thursday evening for seniors, with a barbecue on Thursday nights when team selections are announced. Junior training is held Wednesday afternoons after school.
The cricket season typically runs from early-to-mid October to early March, with pre-season training starting in late August or early September. Matches for both junior and senior grades are predominately held on Saturdays with some Friday night or Sunday matches depending on fixtures.
